My Top Places/Events of 2015

Laser quest with the course - It may seem like a small activity, but I do appreciate and love my course mates at university to death. We're like one big family, no matter how cliche that sounds. We had a smashing time in Cardiff city's new laser tag and bowling lanes and for such a good Tuesday deal, if anyone is looking for something to do in Cardiff, I thoroughly recommend it.

Isle of Wight Festival - It was probably one of the best festivals I've ever been to. It had a lovely atmosphere of people of all generations. It included a spectacular line-up including Fleetwood Mac, Pharrell Williams, Blur, Prodigy, Paolo Nutini and so on. It also introduced me to new music and I had a fantastic experience, even if it did torrentially pour down for the Friday set. See my blog post about it all.

Isle of Wight day trip - Now we've all gone off to university, seeing my close friends has been a bit more difficult. Once I moved back home to Eastbourne for the summer myself and my friend Chloe decided to spontaneously visit our boys down in Portsmouth one evening. What we didn't realise is we were also joining them on a trip to Isle of Wight the next day. Although the previous weekend I had been at IoW festival, our day trip gave us a lovely summers day to explore the island. From a chocolate apothecary to a garlic farm and the beautiful Shanklin Chine, it was a wonderful day which will always stick in my memory.

When Wales meets Brighton - Over the summer my lovely welsh housemates came to visit me to explore Eastbourne and Brighton and to celebrate three of our 21st's. We were lucky enough to have some super hot weather so we enjoyed an English break to the seafront and Brighton town. They got to experience the weird and wonderful laines of Brighton, have fun on the pier and go out to one of my favourite clubs, Lola Lo's.

My 21st - This year involved everyones big birthdays, and mine was no exclusion. I was very lucky enough to be surrounded by some wonderful company on a birthday night out to Brighton, a (wet) but lovely BBQ and a trip to The Shard and to see The Book of Mormon in the west end. For anyone who knows me, that is my ideal kind of present.

Harry Potter Studios - In the summer I took one of my close friends to a place she's needed to go to for a long, long time: Warner Brother Studios, where the Harry Potter series was filmed. I went a couple of years ago when it first went but this time the Hogwarts Express was there and I couldn't resist another trip up. It was truly magical, as it is every time. I felt so happy to see Chloe's face when we were visiting, she was in absolute awe. We had a cracking time and didn't ever want to leave.. trip there next time for Christmas 2016? I think so.

London in September - for my 21st I received tickets to see 'The Book of Mormon' and to visit The Shard in London Bridge. I'm a fan of 'South Park', I'm a big fan of Musical Theatre and I'm an even bigger fan of 'Avenue Q' so I couldn't see how I wouldn't like 'The Book of Mormon'. It was absolutely fantastic. A comical musical about two young missionaries converting people of Uganda to Mormon religion. With Trey Parker and Matt Stone at the forefront, it was so near the knuckle at time but that is just the humour of myself and my brother! We were thoroughly impressed and planning a trip to see it again!

We then enjoyed with our mother a trip to visit the viewing deck of The Shard, which is the tallest building in Europe. I hate heights with a passion but I thought if I can do The Empire State Building (in 2013), then I can do The Shard. The experience was incredible! We went during sunset and we experienced a range of weathers. Sun, rain, rainstorm, fog, rainbows and a retracted rainbow! Phew, in 2 hours! It was crazy. I wasn't looking forward to it, truth be told, but once I was up there I absolutely loved it and its one of my treasured memories of this year.

I also ended the year in London, as in December a group of us went to visit my friend Chloe in Twickenham. There she took us on a night out in Kingston-Upon-Thames' Viper Rooms, in which we had a fantastic night (despite the boys constantly moaning). Despite our horrific hangovers, we ventured out the next day to our booking to The Ice Bar. We enjoyed a refreshing cocktail, and made the most out of our 40 minute slot. At first we thought that was too short but it is -3 in there so 40 minutes is just about right. We then walked up to Hyde Park to experience Winter Wonderland. We took a trip on the Ferris Wheel which gave us a magnificent view over the park and the rest of London. Well worth the trip on it!

On our final day we took a breakfast trip to Richmond Park. We decided to be the tourists we are and get our full "FENTON!!!" out of it. Poor Chloe! We then went to a smaller park in Twickenham called Bushy Park where we were really up close with the deer. It was incredibly lovely festive end to the festive trip and the year!

I really hope now we're venturing into 2016, that this year hold as many exciting things that this year has. I look back at this year with awe and sadness that it's over but with graduation and the last of my university experience, I am sure I'm going to have a brilliant year this year too!

Happy 2016!
